One of the most popular trekking trails of Annapurna Region is Annapurna Base Camp Trek. The trek showers the voyagers with the beauty of lush vegetations, snow-capped mountains. Additionally, you can explore the floras and faunas around the Annapurna Sanctuary. The trek ascends through the Nayapul at Pokhara. Making our way to the ethnic community of Barpak, we will further trek to Ghorepani Poon Hill. The Poon Hill Viewpoint is said to offer the elegant view of sunrise over the Annapurna Range. The abrupt slopes and the view of rugged mountains make the Annapurna Base Camp Trek stand out from every other trek in the Annapurna Region.
The legendary path, that, carries the footsteps of some amazing climbers. Due to the increasing number of voyagers every year, you can find lodges to stay, eat one after another stop. When you travel in favorable seasons, that is beside the monsoon and the winter season, the paths are pretty accessible.
Trekking to the height of 4,130 meters is not an easy job. When you move higher in the trek, you can get suffer from altitude sickness. However, there’s a very fewer chance that everyone will suffer from that. But still, you need to be aware of that. So, drink a lot of water when you trek to the higher altitude. If, something doesn’t go right, contact your touring guide immediately or call a local for support.
Our guide will come to pick you up at your Hotel in Pokhara, drive to Kimche. It takes around 3 hours driving by Jeep. If you start your trek from Kathmandu, you will take an early flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara then drive to Kimche and trek to Ghandruk the Gurung village (2020m). Today is an easy day, you will walk for one hour. In a clear day, you see the nice view of Annapurna South, Himchuli, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhre etc. Rest of the day, you will explore Ghandruk village, Gurung Museum, overnight at Lodge
Today is a moderate day, you will trek from Ghandruk to Sinuwa (2340m). It takes 6-7 hours walk. The trail from Ghandruk to Komrong Danda is slowly up. From Komrong Danda, you will trek down to Komrong Khola. Again climb up to Chhomrong, Chhomring is another nice and big village. From this village, you will trek down to the river and will climb again to Sinuwa. If the weather is nice, you will have nice view of Mountain range, overnight at Lodge.
In the morning, you will have the nice view if the weather is good. After that, you will have breakfast. You will trek from Sinuwa to Deurali. The trail is mostly uphill and jungle walk. It takes 6-7 hours walk. You will pass Bamboo, Dovan, and Himalaya during the trek. Deurali is located 3200m, overnight at Lodge.
Today, you will trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp. Annapurna Base Camp is located 4130m. It takes 5-6 hours walk. The trail is all the way uphill. When you arrive at Machhapuchhre Base Camp, you will have again the nice view of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Gandharva Chuli, Glacier Dom, Annapurna III, Gangapurna etc. You will continue to Annapurna Base Camp, overnight at Lodge. If the weather stays nice, you will view the nice sunset from here.
You will wake up in the morning to see the nice view of Annapurna I, Barahi Shikhar, Tent Peak, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Gandharva Chuli and sunrise. After that, you will have a breakfast. Trek from ABC to Bamboo via Machhapuchhre Base Camp, Deurali, Himalaya, Dovan, and Bamboo is all the way down. It is located 2340 m. It takes 6-7 hours walk and then overnight at Lodge.
After the breakfast as usual time, you will trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda via Sinuwa and Chhomrong Village. Jhinu is located1690 m elevation. It takes 4-5 hours walk. The trail is up and downhill. In the afternoon, you will be in the Natural Hot Spring, overnight at Lodge.
Optional: If you do 7 days trek from Kathmandu to Kathmandu. You will continue from Bamboo to Kyumi.
Trek from Jhinu to Siwai (3-4 hours walking). From Siwai, drive to Pokhara. It takes 3 hours’ drive, overnight at the Hotel in Pokhara.
Optional: If you do 7 days trek from Kathmandu to Kathmandu, you will trek from Kyumi to Siwai then drive to Pokhara airport directly, overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.
Best Time to Visit Everest Base Camp
Annapurna Base CamTrek can be done at any time of the year. However, the best time to visit Annapurna Base Camp is from September to November. The clear weather gives a bow of amazing views. Some mouth-watering views look so satisfying that one can spends weeks watching them. The mountains peaks join you in every nook and corner. The shhh sound of the wind that blows from high mountains will refresh your mind. The calmness in the lush of nature delightedly brings out the spiritual and mental happiness within you. Although, monsoon season is not performed by many people due to dramatic road situations. The heavy rainfalls block the roads. Also, you will miss those beautiful cinematic views of the Annapurna Region.
September to November are the ideal seasons for Annapurna Base Camp trekking. Additionally, in Monsoon there are high chances of wild animals being active as well as Mosquitoes, Leeches and any other insects. So if you are planning to visit Annapurna Base Camp in monsoon make sure you carry insects repellent with you. Meanwhile, the people who are also interested in keen botanists often visit ABC during monsoon season. Other than that, all other seasons are preferable for trekking to Annapurna Base Camp
