Day 1 Fly from Kathmandu to gonggar airport then drive to lhasa

Your local guide will meet you upon your arrival in Gonggar airport and will

escort you to lhasa.On the 1-hour drive way, you’ll enjoy the heart-stopping views

along the Yarlong Tsangpo River(Bhamaputra River).  After arriver at your hotel,

the rest of the day is free for you to explore the local area and acclimatize your

self to this high altitude sity at the top of the world.


Day02 Full day Sightseeing in Lhasa;Drepung monastery and Sera monastery

After breakfast visit Drepung monastery and After lunch, visit Sera monastery.The

Drepung monastery.The Drepung monastery is Situated at the foot of the Mountain Gambo Utse,

5kilometers(3.1 miles) from the western suburb of Lhasa ,the Drepung Monastery

is Known as the most important monastery of Gelugpa in Tibetan Buddhism. It is

considered one of the Three Great Monasteries’(the other twe are the Ganden

Monastery and Sera Monastery.) Covering an area of 250.000 square meters

(299,007square yards ), it held 7,700 monks in total and possessed 141 fazendas

and 540 pastures in its heyday, and is the largest-scale monastery among the ones

of the same kind. Seen from,its grand, white construction gives the monastery the

appearance of a heap of rice. As such, it was given the name Drepung Monastery

which, in the Tibetan language of collecting-Rice.Sera Monastery.

The Sera Monastery at the foot of Tatipu Hill is located with the Drepung

Monastery and the Ganden Monastery. The monastery is magnificent and covers

an area of 114,946 square meter (28 acres ). Itsmain buildings are the Tsakchan

Hall, Dratsang ( College ) and Kamtsan (dormitory).Scriptures written in gold

powder, fine statues, scent cloth znd unparalleled murals can be found in these

halls. Colorful debates on Buddhist doctrines are held here and these employ a

style distinctive from those at Lhasa’s other famous monasteries.


Day03 Drive from Lhasa to Namtso

Namtso lake’s touching beauty should not be missed by any traveler who visits Tibet . It is purity and solemn are symbols of Qinghai-Tibet plateau. In Tibetan, Namtso means heavenly lake. It is considered one of the three holy lakes Tibet. Namtso is famous for its high altitude(4730m),(about 3 miles), vast area (1961 square kilometer (about 757 square miles)and beautiful scenery. Namtso Lake is is the biggest lake throughout Tibet. Meanwhile, It is the highest altitude saltwater Lake in the world. The water here is a storybook crystal-clear blue. Clear skies join the surface of the lake in the distance, creating an integrated, scenic vista. Soul of every visitor who has ever been here seems to be cleansed by the pure lake water. Namtso Lake maintains its levels from rainfall and melted snow flowing from high mountains. Five islands stand in the waters of the lake, among which the largest one is langdo island. In addition another five islands stretch into the lake from different directions. Tashi Do island is the largest in area of these five. A great many bizarre stone peaks can be found on this island. Some of them are like trunks; some look like human being; some resemble trees. Various kinds of vivid shapes can easily arouse your imagination. At the same time there are many quiet grottos which are masterpieces of nature. Some grottos are narrow and long like subways; some are full of stalactites; still others are like

louvers. Queer rocks, steep peaks, natural stone ladders and other land form  wonders on Tashi Do island present visitors a picture filled with mystery and enchantment.  


Day04 Drive from Namtso to Lhasa

we will drive back to Lhasa , en route we will stop at a local family tents to experience their typical tents and lifestyle. Afternoon you have time to rest in Lhasa, you also have enough time to wandering around the Bakhor street to pick up some gift for family and friends at home.  

Day 05 Full day sightseeing; Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street

After breakfast, visit Potala Palace and after lunch visit Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Market.The

Potala palace was first and foremost the residence of the Dalai lamas and his large staff. In

addition, it was the seat of Tibetan government, where all ceremonies of state were held; it housed

a school for religious training of monks and administrators; and it was one of Tibet’s major

pilgrimage destinations because of the tombs of past Dalai Lamas. The Jokhang Temple, home of

the most venerated statue in Tibet. The Jokhang, also called the Tsuklakang, is the First Buddhist

temple in Tibet, located on Barkhor Square in lhasa. It was built during the reign of king Songsten

Gampo (605?-650 CE) to celebrate his marriage with Chinese Tang Dynasty princess Wencheng,

who was a Buddhist. The temple was called the Tsulag Khang or House of Wisdom’ but it is now

known as the Jokhang which means the House of the Buddha!

Barkhor street is located in the old area of lhasa city, Tibet,Barkhor street is a very ancient round street surrounding the Jokhang Temple and the Tibetan people are always proud of it. As a symbol of lhasa, this street is also a must-see place for the tourists. Barkhor street is a place full of religious atmosphere and a world of exotic articles. If you have been attracted by it, you should go there. Believe your eyes. And you will get a lot of surprise there.

Drive to Gongkar Airport and Fly back to your destination
