Sikkim Tour


Sikkim was the independent kingdom until the seventies, now is one of the Indian states, lies in between the two Himalayan kingdoms - Nepal and Bhutan. Still regarded as the last Shangri - la in the Himalayan Region this fantastic country offers an exclusive destination to curious explorers. It covering 7,300 sq. km consists of most beautiful mountainous terrain, diverse ecological variations and the ancient Buddhist Monasteries just few interesting things to name. The British Governor General during their reign in India loved to spend their summer holidays in this area to escape from the unbearable heat of Calcutta.

The authorities have now started to issue special permits to visit and trek in the western regions of Sikkim. These special permits are valid only for two weeks. The best period to be in Sikkim for a visit or trek is April/May and October/November. The weather in Sikkim is very unpredictable; at anytime you may have rain, carrying an umbrella or rain check will not be a bad idea. Several of other interesting places such as Enchey, Rumtek, Pemayangtse, Tashiding and Phudong Monasteries are there you may like visiting. These places have a vast religious significance. You may not like to miss the religious paintings, dance performances and the architectural designs of these ancient monasteries during your visit to Sikkim.
 
 
 
DARJEELING
The beautiful hill station called Darjeeling is the perfect destination for many tourists to spend a summer holiday. A leisurely stroll in the Tea Gardens of this enchanting place with a picturesque view will drain your tensions off. Previously, it was under the influence of the Sikkimese King.

In the beginning of the 181 century, the brave Gurkha warriors from Nepal invaded the territory, but later the British East India Company acquired it from the Sikkimese ruler. Today, the Indian Government governs the territory but the Nepalese dominates the population.
